Lodge the Death Certificate
The hardest part is making the first call, but we guarantee once you do it is the first step to relieving the pressure. We will provide guidance and support; and obtain all the information required for your memorial service arrangements.
If your loved one passes at home, hospice or a nursing home our response will be immediate. If they pass in a hospital with mortuary facilities or are under a coronial investigation we may need to wait until any necessary paperwork is completed. If you aren't in attendance we will let you know when your loved one is in our care.
After receiving all the paperwork information we will make a time to meet with you - either at home or in our office - wherever you are most comfortable. During this time we will ask for photos and gather elements for the memorial service. During this time we will get to know your loved one and your family, and work through the details for the service.
We will send you an e-invitation to forward to guests with the funeral details to relieve you of the need to make individual calls, complete all necessary paperwork, obtain a doctors or coroners permission to proceed with the cremation, and make all necessary venue bookings for the memorial service.
The Death Certificate is lodged by us to the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages on the day of the service and cremation. This information is gathered from the details you provide on our arrangement form. You will need to allow approximately 3 weeks from the day of cremation for the Death Certificate to arrive. This will be sent directly to you from the Registry in the mail.
Return of Ashes
Once we have the ashes back in our office we will contact you to arrange a time to collect. It is usually a good idea if you are wanting an urn or cremation jewellery to let us know prior to your attendance, so that we have your loved ones ashes in your chosen urn.
Unlike traditional funerals, memorial services are held without a coffin present, opting instead to often include their ashes as part of the ceremony. This allows for a different atmosphere, where the focus is solely on celebrating life rather than the somber aspects of death. It can create a more uplifting environment, encouraging stories and laughter alongside tears.

We tailor Memorial services to reflect the unique personality and interests of your loved one.. From music playlists to decorative themes, every detail can resonate with their life, making the service a true celebration of who they were.
One of the defining aspects of memorial services is their flexibility. They can be scheduled days, weeks, or even months after the passing, allowing families to gather at a time that is most convenient. This flexibility can help ensure that all loved ones have the opportunity to attend.
Memorial services can take place in various settings, from homes and parks to community centers or places of worship. This versatility allows families to choose a location that holds special meaning or provides a comfortable environment for sharing memories.
